Dear Home.

Hey everyone!

2019’s been a hectic year – but I think it was worth it since it’s the end of the decade, after all!

Since the new year is coming, I took time to look back and see what’s made me who I am today. I consider myself to be practically a manifestation of my home, in which I define in two ways – Hong Kong, and wherever my close ones are.

(It’s also wherever my favourite dumpling place is).

So, I present to you: a poem dedicated to my two “homes”, places that will always have a special place in my heart.

Hong Kong Sleeps on Broken Glass

How do you define home?

My upcoming post will be a follow up of my final post from last year, but called “16 things I’ve learned in 16 years”, of course!

Hope you all look forward to it!

  1. Your poetry is always so powerful and well-crafted. I love how you use your words in really creative ways in order to tell a story. I really liked what you said in your intro– “I consider myself to be practically a manifestation of my home…”; I think that’s a really good way of saying it. I found your poem to be very emotionally powerful and I think that speaks to your skills as a poet! Thanks for sharing this with us; I look forward to reading your next post!

    1. Thank you so much!! This poem is really important to me and is actually an accumulation of my thoughts from the past months, so I was quite hesitant to post this – but I’m so so glad that it’s impacted you sooo emotionally 🙂 Can’t wait to read your next posts too before the decade ends!
